Rainy Day Thoughts

August 6, 2009 at 9:37 am 14 comments

Back in the day I decided I would randomly do “Rainy Day” posts. I keep a post in my drafts where I put random thoughts. Once it gets to a certain point, I post it. It’s difficult to come up with the appropriate time to post it. I have to find a balance between entertainment and “seriously, what is she thinking?!” Here it is… hoping I didn’t cross that line!

-I am FINALLY done painting our bedroom. It looks fantastic. Well, mostly. I still have a ways to go before it looks the way I want it, but at least the walls are painted. Gold flecked wallpaper, may you rest in peace.

-I like Taylor Swift just as much as the next guy, but there is such thing as too much Taylor Swift. I think she’s cute and her songs are catchy, but when I can flip through the radio and hear “You Belong With Me” on four channels, that’s too much. TOO MUCH.

-Any Miley Cyrus is too much.

-I got this text from my mom yesterday: “An old man just walked by on the beach with rolled up jorts…..”

-Okay so my friend Matt posted on this today but it still needs to be addressed. Have yall heard that song “Rockin the Beer Gut”??? At first I heard it and was in shock and tried to change it. But my finger just rested on the button. I couldn’t push it. Oh my goodness that song is catchy.

-I love my blog designer. She is awesome. Well obviously, look how stinking cute my site is. She’s making me a button so that all of my blog friends can post it to their site. (Because you’ll do it, right? Right?) It’s going to say “My Source of R&R.” Too cute. She’s already made it but something is wrong with the code. She’s going to fix it and we’ll get it posted soon enough. So if any of you are wanting a new blog design, check her out. Her button is on the right.

-Did anyone watch “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” last night? If you missed it, you’ll have to wait until next season since it was the season finale. It was ridiculously entertaining.

-I’m quite embarrassed at how much frozen food we’ve eaten lately. I haven’t been to the grocery store in a while. Stephen had a meeting at work last night. He called me when he left and I said, “Okay, I’ll get dinner started.” I walked to the kitchen to preheat the oven for our DiGiorno.

-How is it that not a single one of you had any advice for me on netbooks?! Aren’t we bloggers? Aren’t netbooks made for us? You’ve severely let me down. That’s why you get this crappy post today.

-I remember freshman year of college, my friend Michael made a New Year’s Resolution to go to bed each night while there were still 4 digits on the clock. We laughed at how ridiculous that was. We knew there would be no way he’d keep it. (Partially because we wouldn’t ever leave his room.) The past two nights I’ve gone to bed at midnight. I literally feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. It’s makes me feel old. And sad.

-A couple weeks ago Stephen and I went to the Dollar Store to buy loads of tissue paper for my fancy wall coverings. We got to the check out and the cashier guy looked and me to ask if I’d found everything I needed. I almost passed out. He had the lightest, most green eyes I had ever seen. It was shocking and scary. I couldn’t look at him in the eye. It was like I was looking at someone evil. Someone with super powers. We walked out and I said “Oh my gosh! Did you see that guys eyes??” Stephen looked at me and said, “Yeah, they looked just like yours.” Oh dear.

-My friend Lyndsey is coming to visit this weekend. I’m so excited I could poop.

I’ll leave you with a few pictures of why Lyndsey is one of my favorite people in the whole world.

This is Lyndsey at my rehearsal when she thought she was the bride.

And here she is with my sister. They are really normal and serious people. I don’t know what’s up with the lighting. They didn’t look like ghosts in real life.

And this is when she had a bit of a problem with self tanner on her feet. I love you Lyndsey. Don’t hate me for posting this. It’s just too funny to ignore.

Netbook Advice…I’ve been thinking about getting one for school. The Asus EEE PC 1005 HA is the model I was looking at, since it has some of the best reviews on Amazon. Problem? Apparently they’re only really for the internet…and that’s about it. I asked several different people how it handles Microsoft Office and they said that most netbooks slow down quite a bit because they don’t have enough RAM to handle more than two or three open programs. My brother is trying to talk me into getting an actual laptop, and I probably will. Once you’re done customizing that super-cute Dell Mini it will cost twice what you started out with (I was actually building one just the other night!) and that’s rather discouraging if you ask me.

Secondly, the eye thing. As soon as you wrote that the guy had the greenest eyes you had ever seen I thought, Whoa, really? Because YOU have the greenest eyes I’ve ever seen! Yeah, Chelsea, your eyes are that super-light green that no one else has….except that other guy at the Dollar Store.

-I totally heard Taylor Swift on 3 stations at the same time the other day… I was trying to get away from the song not find it on another station!

-I’m almost ALWAYS in bed with 4 digits on the clock… I know I’m “old” and uncool and I’m okay with that 🙂

    -Your mom is pretty hip…

It’s scary that I knew what your friends were doing with their hands, & then the ricky bobby comment confirmed it. DH does this when I go to take a picture of him sometimes.

Taylor swift is great, but not on 4 stations.

I heard a 8 year old little boy signing “rocking the beer gut”. It made me laugh & feel sad for him at the same time. Bless his little heart.

Basically I think you rock, but you knew that already!

hey! I have an eee pc. I use it all the time. I am in love! I added some ram. I have 2 gigs instead of one. it handles the new office wonerfully. I watch movies, surf, write, unload pictures, etc. everything! I highly recommend it.

Don’t feel bad Lyndsey – I seem to remember Chelsea having a bad experience with self tanner once. 🙂

Chelsea – You know I read your blog… you know I hate that word. I know yesterday I said I wasn’t going to read anymore because you were tricking me into thinking you were a fabulous, fat drunk… but I thought you knew I was kidding. Because I am still reading and I still hate that word. Raw, raw, raw. Ha. There.

PS- I just had to give up my glorious MacBook Pro for an HP. I hate it. I want my Mac back… but give me a month, I’m sure I’ll forget how much I once loved it.

I had to buy Office from UT… for pretty cheap. It does not come with it. But, it does have another writing program. Also, Open Office is a great program that is compatible with Microsoft Office, they use it a lot at ACC. But I’m pretty sure you have to buy Office with whatever computer you end up buying.

But still, I’m strongly recommending the EEE PC. It is by far the cheapest and it has the most memory. I have lots of pictures stored on it, as well as all of my school stuff. And it’s tiny and light. And beautiful. The ONLY thing that bugs me is right shift key is far off, so you have to stretch or accidently hit the up key and destroy everything.

I am comging to visit! TODAY! YAY! AAAAAAHHHHHH! Don’t poop.

You do have eyes that are so pretty they are hard to look at, but not evil.

RIcky Bobby hands are a curse I live with. That picture was to document how awkward Lindsay and I were/are. Lindsay has since grown out of her awkward stage. Unfortunately I have not.

Self Tanner feet was one of the most hilarious debacles I have ever had. I am not even sure that the picture does justice to the color of my feet.

I love Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus… am I a 13 year old girl?

I will see you in less than 9 hours.

I love george strait… and given the opportunity I will beg him to take a picture with us.

Haha we heard “Rockin’ the Beer Gut” on the radio about a week ago and were amazed that a song with such lyrics exists (and gets radio air time for that matter).

DON’T DO OPEN OPEN Office!!!! \My last school switched to it because it saved our district thousands of dollars and it was ABSURD. Everyone hated it and I had (and still am having) tons of conversion problems with documents I created in OO because they won’t open in Word (even though I saved them in a specific format that was supposed to transferable to Word).

How did she manage to get the self-tanner on her feet?! That is pretty freakin hilarious! hehehe
