Pregnant Pause – 29 Weeks
I had a post all planned out in my head. It was good stuff… it had practically written itself. But you’re going to have to wait until tomorrow because it didn’t actually write itself and I didn’t have time to write it last night. Our former foreign exchange student is visiting from France so we went out to dinner and then visited for a few hours. Then I got home at around 10:00 and vacuumed the nursery so Stephen could shampoo the carpets tonight. At that point it was about 10:15 and I got distracted trying to find Daphne on the back of a box of Scooby Snacks. By the time I found her (turn the box, Chelsea!) it was late and I was frustrated so I went to bed.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Today I am 29 weeks and 3 days. I wore a t-shirt to work yesterday and was constantly tugging on it to cover my belly panel. How is it that I have 2.5 months to go and all of my maternity shirts are too short? Today I’m wearing a plain black t-shirt of Stephen’s that I just noticed has a small stain smack between the boobs, probably caused from a queso mishap. But it’s long and it doesn’t squeeze my belly so I’m wearing it. I don’t think anyone around here will object. Thus far, Stephen has been the only person brave enough to utter the words, “Are you going to wear that??” out loud. But I think he learned his lesson and I don’t think there will be any more questions about my attire.
I’m still wearing my wedding ring. It’s the only ring I’m wearing but my fingers don’t look like sausages so I’ll keep it on for now. My bathing suit, however, is starting to look dangerously like a sausage casing. I don’t know how I’ll fit in it for another 2.5 months, but I’m not buying another one. It stretches a bit when it gets wet, so that’s good. It’s just that before it gets wet, my belly shows a bit. OH WELL, I say. OH WELL!
The nursery is completely painted. Whoo hoo! It is super bright but it looks fantastic! If Stephen shampoos the carpets tonight, we can probably get in there and work on stuff this weekend. I’m anxious that get the furniture in there so we can see how it’ll all fit. We have large furniture and a small room. Hopefully with some brilliant placement, we can trick ourselves into believing that the nursery isn’t a shrunken Willie Wonka room.
Here’s this week’s picture, with the new green walls.
We think it’s about the same size as the others. Since we took everything off the walls and painted, Stephen lost the fake frame he used to help him make sure that all the pictures match. I’ll go add it to Bumptastic and we’ll see. I’m also curious about the growth this week because my back pain and awful sleep schedule has not fixed itself. I have a feeling that I’ll be having this back pain until the bitter end. Of course there are worse things I could be experiencing but this isn’t very fun. I actually had a pretty decent night last night. I even pushed snoozed a few too many times because I was too comfortable to get up!
So there’s my update, friends. Time is flying and I’m trying to keep up. It’s not easy for a large woman to keep up with anything, so wish me luck!
