Maybe When I Go Back To Work, My Blog Will Be Interesting Again

– That is the longest title I’ve ever written.

– Stephen is taking the day off tomorrow and we’re taking Jansen to the zoo. Yes, we are aware that he is only 6 weeks (HOLY COW MY BABY IS 6 WEEKS) and won’t know what’s going on. That’s not the point.

– I’m really not sure what I’m going to wear when I go back to work next week. I’m still too big for my pre-baby clothes but too small for my maternity clothes. And from what I hear, my hips may never fit into my pre-baby jeans. So yeah… pickle.

– I got my glasses re-readjusted. I hope the third time’s a charm. If not, I’ll go back and try again!

– Did y’all enter the giveaway on Lauren’s blog? I think you should. My wonderfully creative sister is the creator of the items. Click here to check it out.

– Stephen and I are going on a date on Friday night to this pizza place in Houston. I told you about it many moons ago. Actually, I told you about a specific pizza that had arugula, pears, and truffle oil… and was pure bliss. I think about that pizza often and my wonderful husband suggested we go have one on Friday. I’m very much looking forward to it.

– I think Facebook is doing bad things for breast cancer awareness. They’ve somehow managed to make it a tacky way to talk about bra colors and where you “like it.” (Yes I know they are referring to where you put your purse but what the heck does that have to do with breast cancer?!) I think it’s dumb. I think it would be a much better use of our statuses if we all said “Get a mammogram!!!” or “Praise God, two of my aunts are cancer survivors!!” Right?

– I hate that my child is wide awake after his 10:00 feeding. But I love rocking him and rubbing his soft baby hair. And I love when he stares up at me. I just imagine him saying, “But Mama, I don’t want to go night night.”

– The verdict is in: I love my Kindle. (Especially while breastfeeding!)

– Also, I love my husband. I have no specific reason today, but I thought I should mention it.

I always find your blog to be entertaining, and the excitement of you having a baby, has not yet worn off, so keep talking.

Amen on the Facebook thing. That stuff gets annoying after awile!
And sweet Jansen IS saying, “But Mama… I don’t want to go night night.” And pretty soon you’ll actually hear those words come out of him! Enjoy those sweet moments… I still remember rocking my litttle man… who’s now almost as tall as me! (sniff sniff)

Amen, what’s with this long quiet alert period just as I’m ready to go to bed ~ but I also love him staring up at me.

    Have fun at the zoo!

My baby is 6 weeks old! Argh!

I don’t mind the wakefulness at 10 so much as the wakefulness at 3am.

I also adore my Kindle while breastfeeding. So helpful.

Thank you! I hate those facebook status’ too! I think they are ridiculous. Not true about your hips never going back to pre-baby, not true. After having 3 children, I got smaller than I had been before babies…(I know you wouldn’t know that looking at me now, but it’s true!) I’m looking forward to your date night too because we get to keep Jansen!

Even better is when your child is up and actually tells you he WANTS to go night-night! 🙂 I’m single-parenting it this week, so I love bedtime these days.

And yes, your hips will go back to pre-baby size eventually (it took mine like a year, but it did happen!)

    the last one was adorable.
I think I’ll be going to the zoo soon; I love our zoo! So fun.
Enjoy the pizza date tomorrow night 🙂

I said the same thing about Facebook and instantly felt like a goodie-goodie-don’t-want-to-talk-about-naughty-things girl. Soooo glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s tacky!

I completely 100% agree with you about facebook and breast cancer!

omg..the facebook thing kills me. about 2 or 3 weeks ago one of the student workers in my office put that as her status and for the next 2 weeks we all were talking about what a skanky status update that was….then all the msgs started rolling in about the new breast cancer “game”. but, still – – my Dad is on FB and always writes stuff on my page. there’s no way I can bring myself to having that as my status. awwwwwkkkkkkkwaaaard….

I totally agree about the facebook statuses. I was keeping quiet about it on facebook because I figured, “Hey, if people want to be tacky, its their business.” But then the 17 year old daughter of a friend of mine posted it, and I had to say something to her. That’s just too far.
