Seven Quick Takes

I’m having a hard time here because I’ve just realized that Christmas Eve is a week from today. I know everyone  says that the Christmas season is really long but it has just flown by for me this year. I’m not ready for it to be over. Am I the only one?

I’m making a dessert for our Christmas with Stephen’s family tomorrow. Any suggestions? Seriously. Help. I love to bake and I always think “Oh I need to try that!” but of course I can’t think of any of those recipes now.

Jansen is at such a fun age! He has started to talk… non-stop jibberish. He has the cutest little voice (he kind of sounds like a girl) and he just squeals and rambles. I love it! I squeal and ramble right back at him.

Send big congrats to our girl, Kathleen (<– link) who is PREGNANT!! So happy for you, girl!!

I seriously overestimated the amount of bibs we were going to need and seriously underestimated the amount of burp rags. Also, will my burp rags always smell like sour milk or is there a way to fix this?

I think I’m going to write a love note to Fenugreek. Or a Poem. An Ode to Fenugreek, my stinky supplement, provider of my milk. You make me reek of maple syrup but your powers are magical. Because of you, my rolly baby can partake of liquid gold. You complete me. And also my budget thanks you.

You may want to try adding some vinegar to your laundry when you wash your burp rags. Anytime my laundry gets left in the wash and sours, I wash it again and add vinegar and it takes the soured smell right out. Just a thought.

No, I am in the same boat. Christmas cannot be just a week away, OMG! The actual calendar has moved much faster than my mind/body.

I will send you the recipe for a pumpkin roll. You may or may not want to make it but it is a festive dessert. Not to mention all the sugar and cream cheese that hello makes it totally delicious 🙂

I can’t believe that Christmas Eve is a week away… I could use an extra week or 2 before it arrives! Just don’t feel ready and am also not ready for the season to end!

My friend who is breast feeding told me about that supplement! What a strange phenomenon that it makes you smell like maple syrup! So strange! Glad it helps, though!

I agree about the vinegar. You might also look into stripping the burp cloths. It works to remove build up on cloth diapers, so I don’t see why you couldn’t try that process with burp cloths as well.

I found these instructions for you: “I soaked them all night in a cup of laundry detergent and a cup of dish washing detergent and then in the morning ran the washer with a cup of vinegar in it. NO SMELL what’s so ever and they are bright white – like new. They weren’t bad looking before but seriously I would never know they are used!”

    Good luck!

Does Fenugreek work for you? Where do you buy from? I’m still struggling to make enough for my six month old.

I admire your diligence with your blog! It’s so fun to follow your new adventure!
