Quick Takes On A Thursday

December 30, 2010 at 9:25 am 8 comments

I have the day off tomorrow which means I probably won’t be blogging. (I don’t know why that really matters since I blog at night anyways.) I’m going to give myself a blogging three day weekend so I thought I’d do some quick takes today.

Wordpress has quit emailing me my comments. WHY? It did this once before and I don’t remember why. I think it was a glitch and it fixed itself. Does anyone know anything that could help me at all?? I hate that I have to visit my own blog to see your comments.

My baby is not feeling well. He’s a really happy baby but he is currently seriously super pissed off at the world. I’m not sure what’s going on. He doesn’t have a fever. I’m pretty sure it is tummy related since he kicks his legs and then pulls his knees up to him. He’s been having some serious spit up. I’m trying to be a chill momma and not freak out. Since he has no fever and he isn’t spitting up all his food, I think he’ll be okay. I’ll just keep a close eye on him so I can notice any changes right away.

How many people bought Choco Vine last night?

Every year my cousin gives all of the girls socks for Christmas. I don’t know how she does it but she always finds the most fun pairs! This year we got these red cable knit super long socks! They go up your calf and a drawstring around that top with pom poms on the end. SO CUTE. I look like I’m wearing cable knit boots. I even have my snowmen PJ pants tucked into them.

Look at my Santa.

Here’s another Christmas photo. Stephen’s hat is a bit scraggly. It came with his Santa pants (that you unfortunately can’t see in this picture) and it’s made out of stretchy material which is perfect since he has a very, very large head.

I’m so excited about this weekend that I can hardly contain myself. Three mornings without an alarm clock!! I know, I know… I have a newborn. But little man is good about going back to sleep if I cuddle with him. So I’ll likely have to wake up at 7 or 8 and then we can go back to sleep for another hour or so. I think I could sleep the entire three days if it weren’t for food and potty necessities.

LOVE the Santa outfit Jansen is in… why couldn’t I find one that cute?

My boy woke at 6 for a feeding this morning, nursed in bed and then slept in until 9 when out of desperation (I was hurting!) I woke up up to eat.

Sorry Jansen isn’t feeling well. Have you tried Gripe Water? It’s helpful on the little tummies. Lots of ginger to settle the stomach. Also, I find that a nice bath can have a settling effect on the tummy for whatever reason.

    Santa never looked so good.
I’m excited too, last work day for me, and then 3 days off. woohoo
We can finally have Christmas now that the paint has dried, geesh, are you kidding me. lol
My Mom called this morning, my sister and her family will be there around 5:00 in the morning, she wants us to have breakfast, sorry Mom, I won’t be there at 5:00AM for breakfast, I’ll have brunch breakfast alone. Are you crazy! lol

I hope you and your family have a GREAT NEW YEAR!

Poor Jansen! Usually the kicking legs/pulling legs to the chest thing is serious gas. Try Colic Calm or Gripe Water, especially after feeding. It can help with the spit-up, too… don’t lay him down too soon after a feeding and that can also help keep the spit-up to a minimum! 🙂

So, here’s something weird: I had to close your blog and reopen it because the snowflakes that usually fall left to right were falling right to left and I just couldn’t concentrate.

    I know, I know…

I hope Jansenator gets to feeling better! Way to be chill…enjoy your weekend of not waking up because you have to (obviously minus the necessities) and being able to go back to sleep if you do!

You might have a case of reflux on your hands…at his next Dr.’s appt – you might mention. That little problem affects ALOT of babies… like 8 out of 10! Sophie had it – (and so did all the babies her age at the time at church, etc…) and the Dr. prescribed Prevacid or Prilosec (I can’t remember which but it started with “P”). It worked like a charm. No more throwing up…
Mylicon isn’t working at all for you??

Hey… on another note…I think my baby will just fit in that little Santa suit next year … could you save it for me?? It’s just adorable! If not – I think Dixie has 2 of them! LOL

So glad you liked the socks…I kinda felt generic this year…plain ol’ red ones. But they were a great deal – and when you’re buying 10+ then that’s something you gotta consider! Love youuu! ♥

I contemplated buying Choco Vine the other day at the grocery store. But I don’t think I’m brave enough… yet.
