Ten on Tuesday (71)

Today’s batch of questions is from Angie at Lariats and Lavender. Thanks, Angie!

1. What is your cleaning style like?
I didn’t know there was such a thing. My style is: Ignore it until it goes away. (Hint: It never goes away.) I don’t understand you people who love to clean. Something is wrong with you!

2. What is your favorite thing to add to an outfit to take it from casual to classy?
Either a scarf or tall boots.

3. Do you like stormy weather?
Yes, except when it gives me a headache or when I have to drive in it.

4. What is your favorite cold treat on a hot day?
Ripe fruit, ice cream, or a beer.

5. What is your favorite warm treat on a cold day?
Coffee or hot chocolate. OH, NO! Grilled cheese and tomato soup! With the tomato soup served in a big mug.

6. Who is your favorite animated character?
I don’t know that I have one. I’m sure that I’ll think of something as I’m reading your answers.

7. What do you keep your jewelry in?
A jewelry box that Stephen made me as a wedding gift. It pretty awesome! My mom got me this super cute Vera Bradley jewelry roll-up thing for travel. The print is so cute! Here’s a link!

8. Do any of the rooms in your house have a theme?
Nope. Jansen’s room has the theme of bright and non-baby! Here’s a link to that if you are new to my blog. (And please ignore that I misspelled “cloths” as “clothes.”) Ha, the title of that post is “The Reveal: The Themeless Nursery.”

9. Do you watch any interior design TV shows – if so, what is your favorite?
Not anymore. They give me home envy and I don’t like that. It’s hard enough to love my old home, I don’t need television shows to make it magnified.

10. When was the last time you did something risk-taking?
I’m kind of a wimp. The biggest risk I took lately was driving on a Houston freeway. Or maybe changing Jansen’s diaper without a pee pee teepee.

Your turn to link it up!

Home design shows get me green with envy too! I always think I have the perfect little home for my husband and I until I see what other people come up with 🙂

Tomato soup and grilled cheese are amazing!

A scarf and tall boots! Genius. Didn’t even think of that…

  • 8. Nora  |  March 15, 2011 at 8:37 am

Yum, grilled cheese sounds amazing…. that’s a great treat on a cold day. As is taco soup. Can’t go wrong with that!

Whoa, you are living on the edge my friend!

    1. 5min pickup each night (Luke helps with his stuff) 🙂 I do laundry once a week, and run the dishwasher when it’s full. I do a full mop of the downstairs (all tile) once a week. Vacuum the upstairs every 2 weeks. Basically, I just clean in tiny increments and the house always seems to be “mostly” clean this way!

    2. Cute high wedge heels and some jewelry, and maybe a bit of a makeup touchup.

    3. Yes. I love thunderstorms 🙂 Hurricanes, not so much.

    4. Duh. BLUE BELL.

    5. Hot chocolate from my Keurig

    6. Mulan. I LOVE that movie.

    7. Rings are in an antique jewelry box. Everything else is in a drawer of our big dresser.

    8. Our loft/computer room has all our sports memorabilia on the walls. And Luke’s room is leaning more and more towards Star Wars stuff.

    9. Not really. Too many ideas and not enough $$ to actually do them!

    10. Does getting pregnant with a second baby count? I do not feel ready to take on two kids at one time! lol.

I hadn’t seen the pictures of Jansen’s nursery yet and I love it! The bright colors really work. Also, gonna need a grilled cheese and tomato soup ASAP, even if it’s 60 degrees here. And I snickered about pee pee teepees 🙂

    Hope you’re feeling better!

I’m on spring break so I have time to do this! WOOHOO!

    1. What is your cleaning style like?
I try to keep things tidy. My room gets really bad when I’m trying to finish a project so i usually do a huge clean after I turn in a major project…and that includes my entire apartment.

    2. What is your favorite thing to add to an outfit to take it from casual to classy?
    heels

    3. Do you like stormy weather?
yes i do. But only if I’m inside, under a blanket, hanging out with someone or with a book….and not planning on going to the beach

    4. What is your favorite cold treat on a hot day?
ice water or an ice cold beer

    5. What is your favorite warm treat on a cold day?
hot chocolate…or, now, a skinny caramel macciato from starbucks

    6. Who is your favorite animated character?
hank hill from king of the hill

    7. What do you keep your jewelry in?
its a miniature plate that my grandma gave me. it says “Lindsay’s Rings” in cursive on it.

    8. Do any of the rooms in your house have a theme?
my house is an apartment. and i’m renting. there is no paint on the walls or anything, so no

    9. Do you watch any interior design TV shows – if so, what is your favorite?
I used to..then I got annoyed because everything is the same. and I don’t like some of the new designers. I will, however, ALWAYS long to be besties with Candace Olson

    10. When was the last time you did something risk-taking?
uhhhhhhhhhhh Probably driving home on Sunday night. It was past midnight but according to my body it was only a little past 11 so I did. On my way home I saw a SUPER nasty wreck and wish I hadn’t decided to drive home.

    7. Melt! That is such a sweet, unique wedding gift.

    8. Jansen’s room is AWESOME

  • 14. Krys  |  March 15, 2011 at 12:43 pm

Grilled cheese is THE BEST in cold weather. I actually thought about answering with that as well… then realized I do indeed love grilled cheese ALL the time, not just when it’s cold. 🙂

Oh, I do love grilled cheese and tomato soup. Especially with parm or gouda and lots of basil in the soup. Delicious!

I don’t think I’ve seen those pictures of Jansen’s nursery. It’s so cute!

I’m with you on the cleaning. It’s so overrated.

  • 21. Lisa of Lisa's Yarns  |  March 16, 2011 at 6:26 am

Mmm, grilled cheese w/ tomato soup is a good answer for a cold day…

I had a hard time thinking of a hot weather treat because i feel like i have forgotten what it feels like to feel hot!
